BSM to host online concert out of appreciation for guitarist Julian Bream

The Bangalore School of Music in association with Calcutta Classical Guitar Society will honor legendary guitarist Julian Bream, who passed away a month ago, with a YouTube concert on September 27. Bream, who was presented the title Commander of the British Empire in 1985, was instrumental in nurturing generations of classical guitarists around the world. He was honoured with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. Aravani Art Project produces alive the ‘Story of Bangalore’ or ‘Bengaluru Kathegalu’ through art

There is a new addition to the Bengaluru cityscape. The façade of the Museum of Art and Photography (MAP) on Kasturba Road, which is under construction, has been changed into an enormous, brilliant mural. The project was rejuvenated more than 10 days by Aravani Art Project, a city-based cis and transwomen art collective. The artwork named Story of Bangalore or Bengaluru Kathegalu, features the myriad individuals that make the bustling metropolis: from the morning walker and the pourakarmika to the traffic policeman, total with orange reflector jacket.
