BCCI reports Mithali Raj, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Smriti Mandhana as captains of the 3 teams in the Women’s T20 Challenge

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has declared every one of the 3 partaking squads in the Women T20 Challenge, to be held in UAE, beginning on November. It will be a short T20 competition, traversing from November 4-November 9, will be the third edition of the Women’s T20 Challenge that saw its debut year in 2018. The opening game will be held among Supernovas and Velocity on November 4.

As BCCI has declared the squads for the three teams in the Women’s T20 Challenge, Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and Mithali Raj have been named as captains of Supernovas, Trailblazers and Velocity respectively.

The All-India Women’s Selection Committee, that was formed on September 26 this year, named the three squads. Prior, the BCCI had delegated previous India Women’s cricketer Neetu David as the top of the new All-India Women’s Selection Committee.

“The best of Indian women’s cricket will combine with some of the leading stars from England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Bangladesh and New Zealand in a four-match tournament. Thailand’s Natthakan Chantham, who scored her country’s first Women’s T20 World Cup half-century, adds another feather to her cap as she will become the first Thai cricketer to feature in the tournament. The All-India Women’s Selection Committee picked the three squads”: a statement released by the BCCI said.
